Metacreatures This series of 3D printed sculptures consist of essential ball and wire forms. These forms, originally produced by digitally captured gestures are further refined using traditional 3D modeling techniques. Just as each brush stroke of a painting is the captured gesture of an artist, these forms capture artist gesture in three dimensions. The forms may invoke anthropomorphic imagination, pareidolia, a perceived attitude or posture, yet ultimately they are just balls and wires, with everything else is brought in by the observer. These forms are both a study on the minimum structure needed to activate affinity as well as the relationship between traces of gesture and aura of the artist captured in objects. |
