Façade

Human consciousness emerges from, or at the very least is directly connected to the nerve activity in the brain. Certainly if the nerve activity is disrupted, such as when one is put under anesthesia, consciousness temporarily disappears. Human thought is also dependent upon the nerves, synapses, and cascading signals in the brain, yet simultaneously, the brain must make sense of this activity that it is sensing. Thought needs to create an interface for thought. The mind must generate a model of what is being perceived in the mind. Thought is a façade that simplifies inconceivably complex neural activity, similar to the façade that we need to perceive the rest of reality.
